Daniel Ray Hilsinger is a survivor.

Diagnosed at 29 with bone cancer, he decided to pick up a guitar for the first time.

7 years later, he’s dedicated to having a positive impact in this world with his music.

“No matter what comes, never give up. Never give up on yourself, on your dreams. All you gotta do is show up. Every day.

This life — it’s worth living”

Daniel Ray’s soulful voice, lyrics and music give way for reflection. His first two albums — “Everlasting” a meditation on his illness, grief, and healing, and “Hurt” a painful memory of broken love — were released in 2023.

In September 2023, Daniel had the opportunity to record an album in Nashville, Tennessee with several Grammy-award winning musicians. It’s called “Sun of Sverige” and is dedicated to his grandfather Stig Björk, a lover of country folk music.

The first single, “Sverige I’m Coming Home” was placed in the final episode of the most-watched cable TV Show in Sweden - Allt För Sverige.

Since the show, Daniel has found his long-lost family in Sweden and made a home in Grängesberg, where his grandfather Stig was born. It's an old mining town in a region called Dalarna that has a rich history of folk music traditions.

Recently, Daniel organized a concert in that rural town that sold over 200 tickets to fundraise for cancer-prevention and treatment research for the Swedish non-profit Cancerfonden.

He doesn’t know what’s next, but he does know the sun is always shining somewhere, and that no matter what, he’ll be singing tomorrow.
